Sightline is a father-and-son company, 50/50, both of us working. We are long-time Gloucester County residents — this is our town, not our territory.
David spent twenty years running professional kitchens, where the inspector arrives unannounced, the checklist is not optional, and "good enough" is a word for people who do not last. Adam runs the field work. Between us that is the whole company: no franchise fee going to a head office in another state, no rotating sub crew, no 877 number that rings a call center in a different time zone.

How to vet any contractor, including us.
- Ask for the certificate of insurance, and check it names general liability and workers' compensation.
- Ask whether the people doing the work are employees or subcontractors.
- Ask what happens if something breaks, and get the answer in writing.
- Ask for the price in writing before the work, not a verbal figure in the driveway.
- Ask what they do about your plants and your patio.
- Ask who to call if you are unhappy, and by when.
If a company gets awkward at any of those six, that is the answer.
